Stained Glass in England & Wales– the roots and branches
Anyone who has had the privilege of listening to Phil speak about the architectural history of their local church will know of his encyclopaedic knowledge of English church architecture, and his extraordinary ability to find and explain fascinating detail in everything he sees. He is presently Church Buildings Officer and DAC Secretary to the Diocese of York, and is the fountain of all knowledge on churches far and wide across Yorkshire.
Phil graduated in music and post-graduate theatre studies in his native Wales, and has enjoyed a successful career as a composer, performer, musical educationalist, architectural historian, designer and lecturer. Described as a “professional enthusiast” he has worked in opera, theatre, television and education, he holds numerous musical and architectural Trusteeships. He has had a lifelong interest in the history of stained glass.
